[AI Features](https://knowledge-base.sportal365.com/ai-features?hsLang=en) # AI Suggestions in the Article Editor ## AI Suggestions analyzes the content of your article and automatically recommends two things at once: relevant sports content widgets to embed in the body, and optimized SEO fields (title, description, keywords, and slug). Instead of manually searching for the right match widget or writing SEO metadata from scratch, you can generate a full set of suggestions in one click, then review, edit, or remove anything before saving. ### **What AI Suggestions does** When you run AI Suggestions, the assistant reads your article body and identifies the people, teams, matches, and competitions it mentions. Based on that, it returns: - **Content widgets** — interactive sports widgets (for example, a match event, a timeline, or lineups) inserted directly into the article body at contextually relevant positions. Widgets are suggested only where they apply and when sports widgets are enabled for your project. - **SEO fields** — an optimized SEO title, description, keywords, and URL slug, populated in the SEO panel. - **Title and summary** — a suggested main title and a suggested summary for the article. The Strap line is not changed. Every item the assistant adds is clearly labeled. Suggested widgets, the title and summary, and the SEO panel are tagged with an **AI Suggested** marker, and a summary bar at the top of the editor reports what was added. Which of these suggestions your project gets is set per project. Widget, title, summary, and SEO suggestions are all switched on by default. Sportal365 configures this for your project; there is no setting for it in the CMS, so contact the Sportal365 support team if you want it changed. **Note:** AI Suggestions makes recommendations only. Nothing is published automatically — suggested widgets, title, summary, and SEO values are inserted into the draft so you can review and adjust them before saving the article. A suggested title or summary replaces the text already in that field, but you can bring your own text back with the undo button next to the field. See the full workflow in this short demo, then follow the steps below. The demo was recorded on an earlier version, so it does not show the title and summary suggestions or the undo buttons.   **Before you begin** - Open the article you want to work on in the **Edit Article** screen (or start a **New Article**; the button works the same there). - Make sure the body already contains the text you want analyzed — the quality of the suggestions depends on the content, so it works best on a written draft. Until the body has text, the button is greyed out with the tooltip “Add some text to the article to use AI Suggestions.” A title alone does not enable it. - If the article is about a specific match, tag the match first: in the **Tags** panel, add the teams under **Football connections**, then click **+** next to the match in the **Upcoming matches** or **Past matches** tab so that it appears under **Selected matches**. AI Suggestions bases its widget, title, summary, and SEO suggestions on the first selected match. ### **Step 1: Run AI Suggestions** In the editor, find the **AI Suggestions** button (with a **New** badge) near the top of the editor, beside the word and character counter, then click it. This may take a moment depending on the length of the content. It reads **AI Suggestions added:** followed by the number of widgets, SEO items, and title and summary suggestions added. For example, **4 SEO** stands for the SEO title, description, keywords and slug, and **2 Title & Summary** stands for a suggested title and a suggested summary (a count of 1 means only one of the two was suggested). Widgets are counted too when any were suggested. The button changes to **Regenerate**, and the SEO panel is populated and its header is marked **AI Suggested**. Whatever was in the fields before is replaced, so if you already typed a title or a summary, you see the suggestion instead. The **Strap line** is not changed. A field that AI Suggestions changed shows an **AI Suggested** pill next to its label, followed by a small undo button. Review the new text and edit it like any other text. To compare it with your own wording, or to get your own text back, use the undo button (see **Undoing a suggestion field by field** below). If the assistant has no suggestion for a field, your text stays as it is. The same happens when the suggestion is identical to your text: the field is left unchanged and shows no **AI Suggested** pill, although the **Title & Summary** count in the summary bar still includes it. ### **Reviewing suggested content widgets** Each suggested widget is added as a content block in the body, in the position the assistant judged most relevant, and is marked **AI Suggested** at the right end of the block header. Hover over a suggested widget block to reveal its controls (while you hover, they cover the AI Suggested badge): - **Copy embed code** — copy the widget’s embed code. - **Preview** — see how the widget will appear to readers. - **Edit** — open the widget’s settings to adjust its options. - **Remove** — delete the widget from the article. ![AI Suggested Football Single Event widget block in the article body, hovered. Widgets you keep behave exactly like widgets you add manually. ### **Supported widgets** AI Suggestions can add any of the following sports widgets, depending on what your article covers. Each is listed with the identifier used in the system. #### **Football** - **Single Event** — football-single-event - **Single Event (Detailed)** — football-single-event-detailed - **Match Center** — football-match-center - **Lineups** — football-lineups - **Odds** — football-odds - **Stakes** — football-stakes - **Team Match H2H (head-to-head)** — football-team-match-h2h - **Timeline** — football-timeline - **Team** — football-team - **Player** — football-player - **Standings** — football-standings - **Top Scorers** — football-top-scorers - **Most Decorated** — football-most-decorated #### **Basketball** - **Single Event** — basketball-single-event - **Single Event (Detailed)** — basketball-single-event-detailed - **Standings** — basketball-standings   **Note:** Which widgets appear depends on the article’s content and the available sports data — a widget is only added when relevant data exists for the teams, players, match, or competition involved. More sports and widget types may be added over time. ### **Reviewing suggested SEO fields** Open the **SEO** panel on the right to review the suggested values. When AI Suggestions has run, this panel is marked **AI Suggested** and may include: - **SEO Title** — a search-optimized headline, which can differ from the article’s main title. - **SEO Description** — a concise meta description summarizing the article. - **SEO Keywords** — a set of relevant keyword tags you can add to or remove from. - **Slug** — a clean, keyword-rich URL slug. Edit any of these fields directly to refine the wording. A suggestion that is empty never clears a field: the value you had stays. AI Suggestions switches off the two automatic options only when that is needed to keep a suggested value: - **Copy SEO title from the main title** is switched off when the suggestion changes the **Title** or the **SEO Title**. - **Generate automatically from SEO title** is switched off when the suggestion changes the **SEO Title** or the **Slug**. An option that is not affected stays as it was. Once you show your original in all the fields an option depends on, the option goes back to the state it had before the run. You can also select an option again yourself if you prefer the default behavior. The **AI Suggested** badge in the SEO panel header stays for as long as at least one SEO field still shows its suggestion, and it disappears when every field shows your original again. To compare a suggestion with what you had before: 1. Point to the undo button next to the field label. The tooltip reads **Show your original**. 2. Select the button. The field shows your original text again, and the **AI Suggested** pill next to **Title** or **Summary** disappears. 3. The button stays next to the label, and its tooltip now reads **Show the AI suggestion**. There is no single button that undoes all suggestions at once. - If you type your own text into a field, its undo button disappears, because the field then shows neither your original nor the suggestion. - If a field was empty before the run, showing your original empties it again. - The undo buttons are not saved with the article. They are kept only while the article is open in the editor, so they are gone when you close the article and open it again. Whichever version a field shows when you save the article is the version that is saved. ### **Regenerating suggestions** If you change the article body or simply want a different set of recommendations, click **Regenerate**. Regenerate first removes the widgets the previous run added to the body, then runs the assistant again: it inserts a fresh set of widgets based on the current content and replaces the suggested title, summary and SEO values. The undo buttons keep taking you back to the text you had before the first run, not to an earlier suggestion. If you edit a field by hand between two runs, that edited text becomes the original for that field. ### **When some suggestions cannot be generated** The widgets are requested separately from the title, summary and SEO fields, and the title, summary and SEO suggestions are generated together, so those three succeed or fail as a group. If one part fails, AI Suggestions still applies the other and shows a warning: - **AI Suggestions partially applied** — “Widget suggestions could not be generated. The other suggestions were applied.” The title, summary and SEO suggestions were applied, and no widgets were added. - **AI Suggestions partially applied** — “Title, summary and SEO suggestions could not be generated. The other suggestions were applied.” The widgets were added, and the title, summary and SEO fields are unchanged. If both parts fail, nothing is applied and the error **Error generating AI suggestions. Please try again.** appears. The button becomes available again, so you can try again. ### **Tips for best results** - Run AI Suggestions after the body is written, so the assistant has full context. - Always review suggested widgets, the title and summary, and SEO fields before publishing — treat them as a strong starting point, not a final draft. - Use **Preview** on each widget to confirm it displays the correct match, teams, and options. - Refine the suggested SEO keywords by removing any that aren’t a good fit and adding your own. ### **Frequently asked questions** #### **Does AI Suggestions publish or change my article automatically?** No. It inserts suggested widgets, writes a suggested title and summary, and fills in SEO fields in your draft. You stay in control and must save the article for any changes to take effect. #### **Can I remove a widget I don’t want?** Yes. Hover over the suggested widget block and click **Remove**. You can also **Edit** it to change its settings instead. #### **Will it overwrite the title, summary or SEO fields I already filled in?** Where the assistant has a suggestion for a field, yes: the suggestion replaces what was there. If it has no suggestion for a field, your text stays. While the article is open, you can bring your own text back with the undo button next to each field (**Show your original**), one field at a time. Check the fields after running AI Suggestions and before you save the article. #### **Which suggestions does my project get?** That is set per project. Widget, title, summary, and SEO suggestions are all switched on by default. Sportal365 configures this for your project and there is no setting for it in the CMS, so contact the Sportal365 support team if you want a different set. #### **How do I get a different set of suggestions?** Click **Regenerate** to run the analysis again.
