We're excited to announce the release of CMS 4.5.0, featuring powerful new content prioritization tools, enhanced content categorization, and numerous improvements to your daily workflow.

Major New Features:

Multisport Widget — Star Events Preview Panel: Prioritize important events with the new starring mechanism:

• Star Events Section: Starred events appear in a dedicated preview section at the top
• Flexible Starring: Star individual events or entire competitions
• Drag to Reorder: Starred events can be reordered via drag handle
• Smart Controls: Star and Plus actions are mutually exclusive per event
• Collapsible Sections: Count badges update automatically on add/remove
• Unlimited: No limit on starred events or competitions

Multi-Select Sub-Type Field: Enhanced content categorization capabilities:

• Granular Organization: Assign multiple sub-types per content item
• Easy Management: Selected values shown as removable tags
• Flexible System: No dependency between Type and Sub-Type selections
• Project-Specific: Sub-type values configured by support team per project

New Marker and Pen Colors:

• Expanded Palette: Added warm gold (RGB 252/212/160) and black (RGB 0/0/0)
• Full Availability: Both colors available for background marker and pen tools

Improvements:

Enhanced Image Cropping:

• Smart Defaults: New projects automatically receive 16:9 aspect ratio
• Add Format Enabled: Editors can add extra crop formats on top of pre-configured ones
• Duplicate Prevention: Dropdown shows only aspect ratios not already in use
• Full Flexibility: All crop formats can now be removed (previous minimum requirement eliminated)

Article Listing Updates:

• New Source Type Column: Shows how articles were created (Editorial, URL Translated, AI Generated)
• Visual Distinction: Each source type has unique badge styling
• Streamlined Layout: Comments column removed to free horizontal space
• Compact Views: Views column now shows as icon with hover tooltip

Licensed Image Protection:

• Watermark Prevention: Blocked for external images (Getty/Imago/Shutterstock) in Gallery Items
• Smart Skipping: "Add watermark to all" skips external images with warning notification
• Clear Communication: Toast shows which images were skipped and why

Unified Toast Notifications:

• Consistent Design: White background with colored left border (green/yellow/red/blue)
• Smart Duration: Display time based on message length
• CMS-Wide: Applied across all CRUD actions for articles, galleries, videos, tags, categories, and more

Tags Display Improvements:

• Related Content Filter: Now shows all sports correctly by distinguishing providers
• Affects: Tags in Articles, Videos, Galleries, and Wikis

Bug Fixes:

Critical Fixes:

• Tag Name Display: Fixed blank tag names for tags with populated generic field (parsing issue resolved)
• Sidebar State: Resolved matches and entities carry over when creating new articles
• Draft Detection: "Draft Detected" modal now displays correctly for new articles

Workflow Improvements:

• Drag and Drop: Now works beyond the visible viewport across the full content length
• Copy Article: Fixed save failure when removing additional categories during copy
• RSM Search: Empty search no longer returns unexpected results from other content types
• 9:16 Crop Format: Crop box positioning now works correctly in portrait format

Additional Bug Fixes:

• New Marker: Removed background color no longer reappears after save & refresh
• Custom Entities: Large image preview modal can now be closed without reloading the page
• Player Edit: Country field now properly re-populates from API after page refresh
• Multisport Widget: Configuration competition list dropdown now respects the multisport_widget_configuration feature flag
