CMS Release 4.7.5

We're excited to announce the release of CMS 4.7.5, featuring brand new sports widget support, a new Editor Preview mode, significant Article Agent improvements, and a large number of bug fixes across the platform.

For Editors:

Major New Features:

New Sports Widget Blocks:
All missing sports blocks have been added to both the old and new editor screens, across both existing and newly supported sports, depending on available widgets. This includes support for:

• Volleyball Widgets
• Rugby Widgets
• Futsal Widgets
• Handball Widgets
• American Football Widgets

Note: These new sports widgets are available for clients using Statscore sports data. They are enabled per client request.

Editor Preview Mode in AI Article Agent

• New preview mode lets editors preview content exactly as it will appear before publishing

Article Agent Enhancements:

• Progress Bar: Visual progress tracking added to the Article Agent screen
• Focus Mode: Distraction-free view while working with the agent
• SEO Suggestions: Article Agent now surfaces SEO recommendations directly in the screen
• Feedback Form Relocation: Moved from the bottom of the page to the article creation confirmation modal for better visibility
• Per-User Access Control: Article Agent access can now be controlled per user (via an admins list), rather than only per project — allowing gradual rollout to specific people instead of all-or-nothing
• Fix: Article Agent now correctly sends a generation request even when the body contains only a quote or table
• General Polish: Resolved a collection of minor UI/UX issues in Article Agent

FansUnited Widget Expansion:

• New Management Widgets: Internal tools for configuring Bracket Game, Configuration, Event Game, Lead, List, Player of the Match, Profile, and Standing Game (client configuration only, not end-user facing) — requires appropriate FansUnited account permissions
• New Article Embedding: New Article Screen blocks for embedding FansUnited game content directly in articles
• Pagination Support: FansUnited widgets (Games, Polls & Quizzes) now support "load more" pagination instead of being capped at the first 10 items, scaling without performance issues

• Activated via feature control upon client request

• New status selector when editing tags, plus a status indicator in the tag listing

• AI Suggestion Feature Issue: Resolved reported issue affecting AI Suggestions
• Hotfix: Fixed Edit screen sidebar not working for AI-generated articles
• Blocky Import Crash: Fixed CMS crash (TypeError) when a single blocky is imported into an agent-generated article
• Workflow: AI-generated articles now redirect to the "Created Articles" tab after creation

Permissions & Access:

• Category Permissions: Fixed bug where users with all category permissions unassigned could still select and populate every category on the New Article screen
• Login Flow: Fixed issue where users skipped project selection and were logged directly back into the same project after logout

Multisport Widget:

• Competition List Scoping: Fixed configuration screen showing all competition lists regardless of feature control — dropdown now correctly respects the multisport_widget_configuration scope

Shell & Navigation:

• App Chrome Stability: Fixed sidebar and top bar disappearing when old CMS content failed to mount (e.g., a deep-linked edit route for a 404'd article) — chrome now always renders
• Console Cleanup: Resolved Flatpickr "invalid locale" error for non-bg/en projects (now falls back to English), removed @tanstack/react-query "Dynamic require" noise, and fixed admin-activity 404 being logged as an error

Article Editor:

• Strapline Issue: Fixed reported strapline issue
• Paragraph Drag-and-Drop: Fixed visual defects when dragging and dropping paragraph blocks
• Paste Formatting: Fixed "Paste All formatting" option not working correctly
• Text Selection: Fixed CTRL-A behavior in the editor
• Info Message Tooltips: Redeveloped tooltip dismissal logic

SEO & Tags/Categories:

• JSON-LD: Fixed SEO Options JSON-LD issue for Categories and Tags
• HTML Description Box: Fixed handling of tables and images
• Custom Entities: Fixed issue where Place could not be selected for a related entity if it wasn't in the same domain
• Main Media Field: Fixed missing Video/Gallery/Embed options for Category and Tag Main Media

Video & Gallery:

• Video Creation: Fixed unclear validation error preventing video creation with only a Video URL
• Video Block: Fixed misaligned "X" icon and inability to clear selected video title directly
• Main Media: Fixed missing error message for empty embed video in Main Media
• Gallery Bulk Type: Fixed bulk operation for setting image type (previously sent empty type in update request)
• Gallery Item Type: Fixed inability to assign Type from the Edit Items Options menu

Widget Fixes:

• Football Blocks: Fixed inconsistent placeholder and validation message for required Team field
• Basketball Tournament Widgets: Fixed always-truthy guard causing data-config-rounds-filter to leak onto all widget types
• Top Scorers Widget: Fixed "Start from position" field becoming disabled/greyed out after entering a value
• Imago Images: Fixed dependence on the Imago origin name

Liveblog:

• Sport Tag Layout: Fixed container layout issue when adding more than one sport tag
• Search Bar UI: Fixed search bar shifting to top after returning from Liveblog details

Lists:

• Article Lists: Fixed "Article is present in" lists not loading when opening an article directly

News Tracker:

• Long Topic Titles: Fixed UI layout breaking with long topic titles and large news counters
• Expand/Collapse Toggle: Fixed toggle remaining active even when there are no hidden topics to display

Cleanup:

• Removed deprecated Playing Surface Photo Integration and related code
• Removed dead AI Assistant code from the CMS

For Developers:

Technical Improvements:

• Article Agent Access Control: New feature config (article_agent with an admins list) enables per-user gating instead of per-project only
• Dependency Management: Replaced react-sortable-hoc with @dnd-kit for drag-and-drop functionality
• Security Enhancement: Pinned unpinned npm dependency versions to prevent supply chain attacks
• Infrastructure: Root .yarnrc points to internal Verdaccio proxy for the entire monorepo
• Lodash Update: Updated to latest available version (4.17.21)
• Code Quality: Sonar Cube error fixes and new test coverage for the Article Agent page
• Shell Cleanup: CMS index.html cleanup
