Overview
Sports connections are connected to statistics and you use them to specify to which match, player, or team a particular news article is related.
Sports connections can be regarded as sports tags. They let you tag your content not only with tags you create but also with keywords (e.g. players, coaches, sports arenas, and so on) fed from our sports APIs. Sports connections are connected to statistics and you use them to specify to which match, player, or team a particular news article is related.
At the moment Sportal365 has two sports APIs -- a football and a basketball --, and you can tag your content with football connections and basketball sport types (also referred to as basketball connections).
The functionality is accessible from the Sports type drop-down box in all major content types, as well as from Images and Lists.
Note that when we add other sports in the future – tennis, horse racing, etc., the new functionalities would be available in the Sports type drop-down menu.
Also, when you tag a news article with a sports connection, you can use the available data from the relevant API to create a page on your website and show all news related to a specific match/player/team, etc.
