Volleyball Standings Widget

The Standings widget displays the current table for a volleyball competition and season, grouped by stage, directly inside your article.

Preconditions

• Your project must have the Volleyball feature enabled. Widget categories are switched on per project, so if Volleyball widgets does not appear in the block picker, ask your administrator to enable it.
• You need permission to create or edit articles.
• The competition you want must have at least one season recorded.

Adding the Volleyball Standings Widget to a post

To set up the widget:

1. Open an article for editing, or create a new one.
2. Hover over a block in the article body. A row of icons appears, one for each sport enabled on your project — the Volleyball icon is highlighted here.

   

3. Select the Volleyball icon, then choose Standings from the widget list that opens.

   

4. Set the widget options. Competition, Season, Stage, Highlight teams and others control what it shows.

   

5. Check the options are the ones you want. Some fields depend on others, so a list can be empty until you set the field above it.

   

6. When done, select Save Block.

   

7. Hover the widget block and select the preview control to see the real widget.

Volleyball Standings Widget options

• Competition (required) — The competition whose data you want to show.
• Season — The season within the chosen competition. Options depend on which competition you selected above.
• Stage — Limits the widget to a single stage of the competition, such as a group phase or a knockout round.
• Highlight teams — Emphasises one or more teams in the results so readers can find them quickly.
• Limit — The maximum number of rows to display.
• Offset — The standings position to start from. Combine it with Limit to show a slice of the table rather than the whole thing.
• Display widget header — Shows the widget’s own heading above its content.
• Refresh time — Controls how often the published widget refetches its data. Leave empty to use your project’s global refresh setting.

What the Volleyball Standings Widget shows

Volleyball tables use a different column set from football, because a volleyball match cannot end in a draw:

• MP — matches played: how many matches the team has completed
• W — won: matches the team won
• L — lost: matches the team lost
• PTS — points: competition points earned

The widget shows a stage selector, then one table per group with a row for each team.

Troubleshooting

• The Season list is empty — Many volleyball competitions have no seasons recorded yet, and the widget cannot render without one. Pick a different competition — the Season list is filtered by whichever competition you chose.
• The widget looks like a plain summary card — The collapsed and edit views show a CMS summary, not the widget itself. Hover the block and select the preview control to see the real widget.

Good to know

• The preview area is narrower than a published page, so the widget uses its compact layout there and may hide columns that the published version shows.
• The widget always renders whichever version of the sports widgets library your project is on. There is no version to set.
