American Football Single Event Detailed Widget

Add a detailed American Football match card to a post.

The Single Event Detailed widget shows one American Football match in detail, with its quarter-by-quarter breakdown.

The fastest way to add a American Football widget: hover any block and click the American Football icon directly — no need to open the full block picker and search a category list.

Preconditions

  • Your project must have the American Football feature enabled. Widget categories are switched on per project, so if American Football widgets does not appear in the block picker, ask your administrator to enable it.
  • You need permission to create or edit articles.
  • This widget is match-scoped, so you need a specific match.

Adding the American Football Single Event Detailed Widget to a post

To set up the widget:

  1. Open an article for editing, or create a new one.
  2. Hover over a block in the article body. A row of icons appears, one for each sport enabled on your project — the American Football icon is highlighted here.

  3. Select the American Football icon, then choose Single Event Detailed from the widget list that opens.

  4. Set the widget options. Team, Display main events, Display Scoreboard, Refresh time control what it shows.

  5. Check the options are the ones you want. Some fields depend on others, so a list can be empty until you set the field above it.

  6. Setting a team reveals a list of that team’s matches, grouped under Upcoming games, Past games and Interrupted games tabs. Select the specific match you want — the widget has nothing to show until one is checked.

  7. When done, select Save Block.

  8. Hover the widget block and select the preview control to see the real widget.

American Football Single Event Detailed Widget options

  • Team (required) — The team whose data you want to show. Type to search.
  • Display main events — Highlights standout events (such as decisive plays) directly on the match card, for sports that record them.
  • Display Scoreboard — Shows a set-by-set score breakdown underneath the match result.
  • Refresh time — Controls how often the published widget refetches its data. Leave empty to use your project’s global refresh setting.

What the American Football Single Event Detailed Widget shows

The match card shows:

  • Q1-Q4 — quarter scores: points scored by each team in each quarter
  • OT — overtime: points scored in overtime, shown only if the match needed it
  • S — score: the final score, which decides the match

Good to know

Only the preview shows the real widget. The collapsed block and the options panel show a CMS summary card instead — always check preview before publishing.

  • The preview area is narrower than a published page, so the widget uses its compact layout there and may hide columns that the published version shows.
  • The widget always renders whichever version of the sports widgets library your project is on. There is no version to set.
